  1. I’ve read your work and I’m impressed. I come from a journalism background as well and wrote for my student newspaper. So glad that a UC Berkeley alum liked my blog!!! This blog is phase one of my plan to take over the world as well. Lol.

  2. Forgive me if I suck at web navigation still, but as of yet have you written an eBook? If so, let me know how I can help you reach people(Though you seem pretty popular already 0-o). If not, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you get it done.

Keep up the good work ::)

    Cheers

  3. Ashley — You have a clean style without seemingly forgetting that your feet are planted on the ground…it’s a real gift. Sensing that about you and your work makes you, liking my stuff all that much better. Thanks. Be well.

  4. Hello Fellow Bagel blogging Lady!!
I feel it’s my good blogger duty to inform you of your many options to satisfy your bagel tooth! One fellow blogger informed you of sherman way western bagel, but left out 3 other important sfv locations!! :)
western bagel not only off sherman way (actually sepulveda saticoy)
    #2 devonshire & mason
#3 San fernando mission & Balboa
#4 Ventura & Balboa you got 4 options for your bagel needs,
but 24 hour western bagel IS SEPULVEDA and Saticoy ….if you have been out having too much fun with ur MANFRIEND boytoy…then I suggest you be very careful or send a courier because L.A’s finest hang out there….and well you get my hint hint , they enjoy bagels as well and its hooker free – the cashier girl who has graveyard shift with painted eyebrows scares the working girls away!! lol its one of the few clean 24 hr places thats around plus local cvs and dennys…but thats another article I will save for the next time!

  5. You have a wit, a spark, and a clear presentation of material. Quite an impressive line-up–glad it’s under constant revision.

  6. Thanks for visiting my blog, Ashley. I like your solid reportage. My dad started the same way, college journalism. Then local TV/Radio, then to a corporate newspaper for 30 years, so I know good reporting. (Not saying you should follow that career path. Creative writing is where all the fun is.)

  7. Nice blog. I’m a reporter/writer for the second largest newspaper in Indiana (cover county government), and recently started my own humor blog, mostly as a form of mental therapy. Ironically, I was just in San Francisco to help judge the entries in the CNPA annual contest, which I’ve done a number of times. Always fun! And, what kind of life do I have that I think sitting in a hotel room all day long reading newspapers and news websites is fun?!
Keep writing. You have a strong voice that comes through in your reporting.

  8. Nice to see a journalist who can write something beyond the who, what, when, where, why, and how. Keep it up :)

  9. In Oak Grove, Three Tree-Sitters Remain – I liked this article. When it was done, I didn’t feel sorry for the tree sitters; however, I didn’t side with the University or the police, either. Well-written from a non-biased standpoint.

  10. Very Happy to see and read your work. I’d like to invite you to do a piece for one of my blogs. Something encouraging young to write, or at least telling a story of how you are building your passion and the benefits of doing so. Will be sending an official invite soon. I hope you consider…

  11. I remember the tree sitters like it was yesterday. I was a GSI at the time, teaching German, and I incorporated the debate into my class. It was one of the best debates we had that semester because it was an issue that directly affected our campus. Great writing, Ashley!

  12. Hi Jillian. Tell me about the differences and similarities between writing and performing. If it please you. I sing the odd jazz standard publicly as well as blogging … thanks. Abracoes, Arnold.
