It is charming with Southern-style humor. And Leaving Cold Sassy Tree is Olive Ann’s unfinished sequel to Cold Sassy Tree. Loved it too but it needed her final touch.
No, not at all! I love that book and its sequel. Except the author passed away too soon. It would have been great to hear more from her. You will love it! I hope.
It’s probably been banned in half of the states because it was written in the “inappropriate” language of its time. Just ignore the “N” word and you might not go to hell. Enjoy!
Whenever I read or hear the word “sassy” I am instantly transported back to 1992 when Phil Hartman was acting in a skit as the editor of Sassy Magazine…”That’s…Sassssy!”
I hope it’s a good book 🙂 I love the south!
Had to come back and say I had never heard of the book before your post. Then I read the comments and ordered it. Absolutely one of my favorite books! Thank you for randomly posting about it after you found it. Guess this is a book club! What did you find this week?
Great find!
Lucky! That is one of my FAVORITE books!
Really? The reviews on the back actually make it sound quite good

Dude, you have all the luck! I need to get out more, and let my inner little out. I used to find the best stuff that way! 😉
Great book!
Check for a lost lottery ticket…not all of the winners of the $640 million mega lottery have come forward…you never know.
Be encouraged!

I didn’t know trees could be sassy… My momma would slap it!

Definitely gonna read it, but after I finish The Portable Dorothy Parker. I only have 52 pages left on that one 🙂
I don’t usually like my trees cold, but throw in some sass and I’m there!

Wow..am I the only one who has NEVER heard of this book before in my life?

Trees are so cool! Cold even.;) I had never heard of this novel but based on all the positive comments I will have to check out this sassy read.
This is the best title ever. And I haven’t read it, but based on everyone’s enthusiastic comments about it, I’m kind of curious now.

Never heard of the book, but I’m sure you were over the moon and I’m happy for you!
Nice!!!
I used this book for my AP English classes back in the 1990s. They loved it as well.
this is so random, I just thought it was a book with a funny name and now I think I’ve accidentally started a book club
I didn’t read the book but I saw the movie, which made me wish I’d read the book first, it was very good.
To echo other people’s sentiment: Please post a review of the book. I am curious to know more about it.
now trees are sassy too?
Excellent find!! Enjoy!
Ok, now I wanna look for a copy for myself:)
LOVE!
Sounds like you’ve gotta read it now. At least it wasn’t The Big Book of Saws.
haven’t read this book yet… but getting it into my “To Do” list….Thanks 😉
I don’t know who did the cover art, but I like it. It’s in the same style as Jacqueline Winspear’s Maisie Dobbs books. Wonder if it’s the same artist?
That book is so AWESOME!
Lucky!
Great find!
You just never know what the day will bring. Love your book club comment…..funny.
Who would leave behind such a wonderful book?
