I turn 23 in two months. The only thing that makes me feel better is being too young to be familiar with various media references that come up at work and/or in improv class. Not even kidding. It’s the only thing.
Granted, I feel like in a few years I will be on the other side of that. And I am willing to bet money that I will be referencing the Tyra show, and some 20 year-old won’t get it. I will make a O.o face at them and say that they just don’t make television the way they used to. Then I will cry the same way Tyra cried when she wore that fat suit.
never forget.
We are hitting our mid-life crisis’s much younger now. I’m just 24 and I feel so old and uncool. The only problem with us hitting our mid-life crisis’s at younger ages is that we are too poor to buy sports cars and too aware to think that lower back tattoos will peel back the years…
So cheers to being in our twenties…lets make it last and then drink the kool-aid on the eve of our 30th birthdays!
Oh, and nice blog! 🙂
Jonathan Taylor Thomas’ 30th birthday for sure spawned my mid-life crisis. I ❤ JTT.
i have no idea what guys are talking about. i love being 30. everything only gets better with age. presumably ill turn old and crochety at some point and complain about the youth these days and try and figure out how to work my tv remote, but for now, everything rocks. 30 is the new 20. at least in my mind. and my mind is all that is.
Take heart, things actually do get better as you age. Seriously.
So that’s what Tyra Banks really looks like… Dang! I knew those Victoria’s Secret catalogs were Photoshopped!!
Happy birthday a little early, and keep up the good work! : )
I just turned 23, and I’ve had this conversation with friends, about how we will soon be referring to the “good ole days.” But I guess getting older isn’t that bad.
since we live in a world where every milestone in our life comes and goes in the blink of an eye, perhaps i should greet you a happy 30th now before it’s too late. 🙂
ughhhh now I am super depressed
I’m still shocked she quit her talk show. Give up the daily opportunity to talk about herself? How un-Tyra!
Thanks for the comment on my blog and I love what you’re doing here. I don’t dip into comedy as often, but I am a huge fan of Chris Hardwick and the people he interviews on “The Nerdist.” I hope you also will check out my post on the unfortunate Jim Carey love video as well as some of my fiction, which will leave you wondering: “Why so serious?!”
Don’t feel bad about turning 23. That’s just silly! I wrote a blog entry about people like you: http://lavieetladanse.com/2010/11/29/youre-not-dead-yet/
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking it. That’s how I found yours.
You’re funny!
Lara
Just date an older guy and hang with an older crowd. That’s what I do to feel younger. Works like a charm. Haha.
Oohh good idea
Haha!! This post was HILARIOUS!! Love it!
And, oh, poor Tyra…I felt so bad for her when she wore that fat suit. What a rough life that poor kid has. Simply brutal. Wearing a fat suit for a couple of hours was just the icing on the cake…
P.S. I felt like I had a mid-life crisis when I turned 21. It was the day that I realised that I was nearer to turning 40 than I was to the day I was born. A sad, sad day…
ugh, today I realized that I have hobbies and not extra-curriculars
I know what you mean…also I truly just laughed out loud at this post. Oh, Tyra. Remember when she was a barbie in that movie with Lindsay Lohan..,and remember when LiLo was all innocent in ‘Parent Trap’? I digress.
