A few highlights of my 2015 π :
- My old boss told me I sounded “too straight-forward” in work emails, so I should try to include a smiley face and an “!” in each email. This is now amongst my worst habits.
- I discovered those video blackjack machines in Las Vegas that are pretty demeaning to animated women, Β but also pay well if you play them right. Verdict: Worth it, but I feel a little dirty.
- I think I only read one book, and it was about makeup …
- I am almost out of debt
- I didn’t write enough, this sentence feels short.
Happy New Year, every body! Be weary of drunk drivers, they are terrifying.
I hate the smilies and “!”. They make me feel fake.
me too, when I got that feedback I had to ask myself, “is this real life?”
Yeah..lol. It’s funny when people appear so enthusiastic in their typing but are the opposite in person.
Well said Ashley. You are straight up. That’s cool. You are just being you. Stay with it.
Thanks, Noeline!

Happy New Year, great to hear the successes, and I guess the hard times helps us be stronger in life. π Stay awesome Ashley
You, too! Hope all is well, Jixi. It’s nice to hear from you

So, to make this far too serious … I’m in a management position where I work and hear all too frequently from people who read far too much emotion into work emails. “So-and-so was mean to me in their email.” I read the email. “Ummm, how do you know that?” So, I kind of get the idea that people should use smilies and other things to add the necessary emotion to an email. As long, of course, that it is a positive and work appropriate email. π
But I agree — it all feels so fake and unnecessary.
Lol, sounds like lots of drama over there. Happy New Year!

I live in Las Vegas and haven’t played a slot in several years. No budget for it anymore! I’ve lost count of how many books I’ve read this year.
Cool post!
Thanks, Ray! Happy New Year! Jeals of the book reading

P.S. I actively ignore those smiley face things…
Though we are friends on my other profile…I got to say HOLA again…Happy New Year. I wish you the best best best best best. π
your blog is beautiful, happy new year π
Thank you…That’s so nice. I try to keep at it to make it look more clean and seamless
Being straight-forward is a trait quite under appreciated. Go with it!! π
Thank you!
Hope you don’t mind the smiley!

Happy new year and, oh, dear, I couldn’t put an exclamation point in. I just don’t feel that strongly about anything to do with work.
Loved this post:) MUAc β₯

Wow, I spent years trying to break people of the habit of including smiley faces in their emails.
Different folks, different strokes, I guess.
